Abby and Andy meet
some very different animals

Abby and Andy are spending Saturday at the zoo.

They arrive at ten o'clock and get a map at the entrance.

“What do you want to see first?” Andy asks.

“The elephants,” says Abby. “Definitely.”

They walk to the elephants. Two elephants are eating, and a baby elephant is playing near the water. Abby takes a photo.

Next, they visit the monkeys. The monkeys are very active. They climb, jump and play together. One monkey sits near the glass and looks at Andy.

“I think he's watching you,” Abby says.

“Maybe he likes my jacket,” Andy replies.

At lunchtime, Abby and Andy find a table outside and eat sandwiches. Then they go to see the lions. The lions are resting under a tree because it is hot.

Later, they visit the penguins. Abby likes watching them swim, but Andy likes watching them walk.

“They always make me smile,” he says.

Before they leave, they talk about their favourite animals.

“Elephants for me,” says Abby.

“Penguins,” says Andy.

They are tired after a long day, but they have had a great time.
