The Global Appeal of Football

Every Saturday morning, Andy wakes up before his alarm. There is only one reason. Today is football day.

After breakfast, he puts on his blue T-shirt, his shorts and his football boots. Then he walks to the park with his ball. His friends gather near the football pitch and say hello.

The game starts at ten o'clock. Andy usually plays in goal, but today he plays in defence. He runs, passes the ball and helps his team. Sometimes they score a goal. Sometimes they laugh when someone misses an easy chance. Everyone has fun.

After the match, the players sit together on the grass. They drink water and talk about the game. Andy's team wins, but that is not the most important thing.

As he walks home, Andy smiles. Next Saturday, they will all meet again.
